Seymour Joseph Guy (1824 – 1910) was an American painter.

He was born in England where he studied under the portrait painter Ambrosini Jerome.

In 1854 he moved to New York, where he begun to paint genre works of children.

He was elected associate of the National academy in 1861, academician in 1865, and was one of the original members of the American society of painters in water colors in 1866.
